Arise Workshop The Unwritten Rules Inspires Mentee’s Careers

Arise Mentoring was pleased to hold a recent workshop for our mentees which was delivered by The Academy at Carlton Bolling School entitled The Unwritten Rules delivered by Sarah Khan MBE and Mandip K Sahota. The workshop gave mentees the chance to learn more about employability, finding a job and what skills you have that can help you know what jobs are better suited for you.

In addition, mentees were able to get help and tips on building up a CV. The workshop received positive feedback from our participants.

About the Unwritten Rules Workshop

The Unwritten Rules workshop aims to equip participants with the soft skills, advice and

mindset they need to create an impact in the workplace. Participants learn to draft their CV, prepare for an interview, and explore personal competencies. Over the course of the day, participants also hear from a guest speaker, gain an insight to recruitment techniques and take part in mock interviews.

The workshops are interactive and engaging for participants and delivered to small groups to encourage participants to think beyond exams and start creating professional connections and opportunities now.

Since its launch in 2018, the programme has reached over 900 students aged 15-21 (Academies and the University of Bradford). Partners and guest speakers have included Bradford Council, Baroness Warsi, West Yorkshire Police, the Armed Forces, ITV, the BBC, Schofield Sweeney, Yorkshire Building Society and Bradford Literature Festival.
